What We Look For

Elena's Lavandería is a busy, family-owned laundromat serving Atchison and the surrounding community. We look for team members who are:

  • Reliable, punctual, and honest
  • Friendly and professional with customers
  • Physically able to handle laundry tasks including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
  • Comfortable with cash handling, basic math, and point-of-sale systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
  • Willing to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends

What the Job Involves

Typical duties for Elena's team members include:

  • Attending to customers and answering questions about equipment and services
  • Operating washers, dryers, and the wash-dry-fold service
  • Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging customer laundry
  • Lifting laundry bags and baskets (up to approximately 40 lbs)
  • Cleaning and maintaining the laundromat throughout the shift
  • Handling cash, coins, and card transactions
  • Monitoring equipment and reporting any issues
